Little Memories

I remember when I was younger, living on our farm when I saw my first hot air balloon. My mom called us to the window and told us to look. Peering out the window, I watched as this large balloon with a basket attached came closer to the house. I do not know how much time had passed before my mom realized that the balloon was coming closer to the house at an alarming rate. Before I knew it my mom had our hands in hers and was dragging us to another room. Soon we heard a low thud and cars coming up our long driveway. That was the first time I had ever seen a hot air balloon and it landed in our back yard. To this day I cannot tell you what caused it come down so fast, but I can tell you how excited I was to see it up close. Interestingly enough, I have never been that close to another one, I just watch them float in the sky and recall that day with great fondness.

Life Carries On

Life happens, we take each day as they come – with the good and the bad. We see people come into our lives, we give them love and support and give them a title – friend or family. We see people leave our lives unexpectedly and wonder what happened, what made them leave – this can be a moment for us that brings us hardship and suffering. We watch as loved ones take ill and pass away from various causes – mourning their loss. We evaluate each and every day, our actions, and words, seeking to find answers. We suffer openly or internally, putting a smile upon our face and tell others we are fine. We celebrate life achievements with our family and friends. No matter the good or bad days, life carries on and we attempt to make the best of it.

Overall Opinion:

My inspiration for this post started with the set from Serenity Style, it reminded me of quiet alone times, where we are left alone with our thoughts; its beauty stood out to me as we often do not see the beauty in others or in ourselves, often pieces of furniture are left forgotten by the owners, very much like the lives we touch and depart from. I decided to wear a simple outfit that was also just as stunning as the decor pieces I was showing. At first glance one view would be formed but upon closer examination the audience would see its great beauty. The dress comes in other colour options as well to meet anyones personal tastes.

The Curious Minds of Men

I find myself having one of those huh moments that I often get when my husband is around and telling about his new ideas. I often wonder if he even hears himself talking or am I the only one that hears it. His ideas are pretty far out there and often make no sense. He leaves me questioning so many things and wondering where in the world he came up with this stuff. I do not question what goes on in his head any more, I made that mistake once. I will admit I let him ramble on and on until he jumps to a new topic and I find my point to escape. They do have curious minds though…

Overall Opinion:

Clearly I am in love with this new outfit set from BlackRose and the number of options it comes in (there are 10 options for you to choose from – 5 in store and another 5 at SWANK). The outfit though was not my inspiration for this post, rather the poses gave me the story once my husband sat down upon that stool. Whenever I can draw him into helping me with a post, it is sure to come with some ramblings. Both stools are perfect for any couple to use around the home (including in the garage).

The Spring Party

Ah sweet spring, there is no better time of the year. The snow is melting and the birds start returning and fill the air with their sweet song. Grass becomes a lush filled green again, flowers poke their stems out of the ground and the trees begin to bud. The sweet smell of spring fills the air and animals wake from their long slumber. Oh how I love spring and what better way to celebrate its arrival then with a party outside in the warmth.

Overall Opinion:

I know what many of you are thinking, why is she showing us Easter decor. While some elements of the garden set are Easter themed, I find the rest of the set screams the bringing of new life that comes with spring. I love this set and how it can be used in a number of ways other then “Easter”. I love my outfit, the top and jeans are perfect and come in a number of options which you will find at Swank and at BlackRose, some items are being exclusively sold at Swank though, like the outfit I am wearing. I paired it with a gorgeous heel that is quickly becoming a favourite go to.

Where I’m Heading

Sometimes I get trapped in my head and need to wander alone. Today is one of those days. It is down a path that no one else can travel with me. Where I’m heading is to a place that takes me deep into my thoughts and has me doing some soul searching. It has me questioning things that I have done in life, where I’m heading, and where I want to be. While I would love to have someone on this journey, it is a place where I head to alone.

I adore this outfit.  Comes in a number of colours that is sure to please everyone. It is perfect for work and play, or even those causal moments at home.

Resting After a Long Days Work

It is always interesting how during vacations some of us work harder then we do during our regular work schedule. Maybe it is just me, but I find during my holidays I am more exhausted at the end of the day then I would be if I had been working all day. Do I do anything differently, no just chase after less kids and add in some odd ball house work. You would think these would not be so tiring but apparently they are. I can definitely say that I enjoyed my moment sitting down to relax when the day was over.

Overall Opinion:

I find this outfit to be perfect for staying around the house or hanging out at friends homes. It is super comfortable and relaxed. It comes in a number of options to meet whatever mood you may be in. It is also the perfect outfit for the changing weather. My shoes are super cute and come in a number of colour options as well.

You Had Me at Hello

Life has been difficult lately and I needed to take some time to be alone with my thoughts and sort out where I needed to be and what direction I would be taking. I decided to take a little trip to a new garden and see what I could find there. The place was rather empty, which was comforting as I needed to be alone with my thoughts. I found this gorgeous spot over looking a river and as I stood there I heard this faint “Hello”. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to find that faint little voice. I could not help but smile when I saw the bird sitting upon its perch. Perhaps he held the answers to my questions.

Overall Opinion:

Not my normal go to outfit, but I find it perfect for the beach or those romantic strolls I often hear of others taking with their loved one. It comes in a number of colours for your choosing. I paired it with a gorgeous set of jewels that can be customized to fit your colour choices as well. I decided to use the lennox pose by !bang to show off this dress as it fit with image I was trying achieve once I had found the bird.

Where Did the Driver Drop Me Off?

I hired a driver to take me to an exclusive event being held in honour of a great artist. I had never been to this part of town and did not want to risk getting lost. I had figured that a driver would be knowledgeable in the entire city and had regrettably placed my trust in the driver. When the car stopped, I gave him instructions on what time to return so I could return home after the event and got out of the car and shut the door. Before I had time to realize I was not in the city the driver was already down the street. Now to figure out where I am and hopefully I can find a way back into the city.

Overall Opinion:

This has become my new little black dress. It is classy and elegant and perfect for any occasion. I could even see myself wearing it work one day. It would work well with a long set of pearls, or even a shrug. It is a dress that every girl should have tucked away in their closet for that night out with a loved one or with friends.

Off to see the Show

A new season is almost upon us as the snow begins to melt. With a new season comes a new wardrobe, which also means fashion shows are taking place as designers put out the seasons fashion mist haves. I recently was invited to attend one show in support of Autism Awareness, a cause that is dear to my heart for personal and work related reasons. I choose my best outfit and made way over in style.

Overall Opinion:

This outfit is perfect for and play. I would wear this to the office, out to meetings, to formal occasions, and out on date nights. I love how classy it is, reminding me of something we might have seen Ms. Hepburn wear out or on screen. It comes in a number of colours so it is sure to please.

A Quiet House

I returned home today to an empty house. It was quiet and peaceful and yet it was eerie and unsettling. I was unaware that everyone would be away, usually they inform me prior that they will be away. I took this time to enjoy the quiet. I fiddled in the kitchen for a bit preparing dinner. I read over a few work notes and items off my to do list that never seems to get smaller. I even took some time to catch up on my recent book choice. While it was eerie to come home to a quiet house, I took full advantage of my rare time alone.

This sweater is warm and cozy and perfect for those chilly nights where the fire just doesn’t cut it either. It comes in a number of colour options as well making it the perfect edition to your wardrobe. I paired it with my favourite pair of ripped jeans and a high boot. I also decided to try out a different pose, one that reminded me of how I often stand for real while working in the classroom.
