After talking with another person I decided to venture out and learn what this ‘Second Life’ was all about. I ventured to the web site, picked my name based on the other game I played. Catherine of Valois, a medieval queen. I could not put in the full name so it was shortened to Catherine, and I choose the last name Inaka because it was the most interesting in the ones I got to choose from. So Catherine was born.
She meet the person in-world, and was taken to a bunch of places to get clothing and different hair. She was given skins and created her look. Looking back I wish I would have taken a picture of Catherine on her first day in Second Life, as the other pictures are hilarious looking back at them.
I was shown this sim, wish I could recall its name. If you stayed there long enough every so often it would drop Linden on you. I would spend hours there just going through my inventory. Often when I was bored of looking at what I had collected from freebie shops and MM boards, I would sit in the car and travel around the sim looking at the locations and often getting off the car and walking around. Sadly this sim is no longer there.
I then found the Ladies only home. A great group of Ladies and place to set my avi when I logged out for the night. What more could a gal ask for. The house was a private location where I could go and be a lone. It had a pool, beach and many rooms to explore. Most of the time, I would sit there and just chat with others or read over note cards I had been given. I met some great people there and gained a life long friend.
My friend that had me join Second Life showed me this really cute park where I would often go to just listen to the music. Again, I cannot remember the name of the sim. Shame really, for it was rather pretty.
I was then taken to a boxing match in the Playmate Palace Sim. I became hooked on the sim and the people, joined their group and started hanging out at events. I gained some bravery and joined the Playmates entering in their magazine contest. I never won in the beginning, perhaps it is because I looked like this.
With my new skin and shape, Pixie took me to look at new hair. I got some new clothes and with that, a gorgeous Catherine was born. I had Pixie take new pictures of me. Still did not get in the magazine, but I now looked better, got more tips while working and was getting noticed.
Shortly after being made the emote instructor, I was then given the position of Club Manager, I made sure the club had dancers and hosts for each of our events, maintained the schedule and found replacements for those who could not make to that event.
In September fate would change my role with the Playmate Palace. Pixie and Max decided to no longer own everything. I and another fine lady were asked to take over. I became co-owner of the sim. Players Night Club, the Playmate Palace, Impressions Modelling, the apartments and the shops. We even took over the magazine.
I took to working on Grid Wide Hunts to fill my days. I found this lovely place where you could take your own pictures using their props. The result was the following three pictures, taken in July.
August came around and there was a push in the Building group to try and get people involved again. I took part in the challenge and built the house in the background of the following picture. I added in my thinking tree and would sit out there trying to come up with the next challenge build. Sadly at the end of September we lost that sim as well.
One of the hunt groups I was involved in was looking for models for one of the stores. I decided to participate in the challenge and created this picture. Sadly they did not get enough participates so the contest was ended. This was taken back in September 2012. Now I mostly rp in Gor. I have found an amazing sim to rp in and spend the other time, hunting and building, or just hanging out with my friends.
2012 came and went and I was on and off SL as I bread Fennux and worked on a few hunts. I was in and out of Gor and joined an amazing Homestone where I met some very awesome people who I not only call friend in SL but in RL as well. April 2013 that Homestone closed and I wandered trying to find a new place to call home. I ended up leaving Gor completely and just stayed at my brothers home where I had a few Fennux out.
Before I knew it 2013 was over and I found myself reaching out to those I missed the most. Near the end of 2014 my brother announced that he was dating one of our friends and I was ecstatic for him. From there I entered into Family RP, completely leaving behind Gor all together. I have not looked back since.
Today July 27, 2015 I blog on a regular basis and I love it. I write a destination guide and blog the things that tickle my fancy. I am part of a group of amazing people who I love and adore. I have amazing friends and family members. While my past was sad and lonely at times, I am grateful for the experiences I have had, the people I have met and the journey I have been on.
I look forward to the future and where it will lead me.
